Animal Assisted Therapy
Miniature Donkeys are highly effective providers of animal assisted therapy. They are used for a large number of mental health issues, personal challenges, and end of life care.

Epona's Whisper offers animal assisted therapy sessions with our donkeys. Currently sessions are available at our Shawnigan Lake facility. Forest walks with Donkeys
Join us for a therapeutic walk in the forest with the donkeys and let the stress of the city or everyday life wash away.
It has been proven that spending time in nature is beneficial to one's physical and mental health. The concept of immersing oneself in nature (as in Japanese 'forest bathing', where one unplugs from technology and takes in the forest through all our senses) is gaining popularity. This is not exercise, hiking or jogging. It is simply being in nature, connecting with it through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. In addition to the donkeys calm demeanor, these walks in nature will center you and leave you rejuvenated.
Epona's Whisper offers escorted walks in the forest with our donkeys. Either leaving from our facility in Shawnigan Lake or at other equine friendly hiking trails in the Cowichan Valley (coming soon). Forested walks ranging from 1-2 hours are available. Even Donkeys like to have fun! Or as they would say..."We are not just therapy animals, we are also party animals!"
To give my donkeys a second purpose (they love to have jobs), they are available to book for weddings, parties, and other functions such as corporate events. The donkeys will wear pack saddles with attractive baskets that contain gifts or beverages for the guests to have and will provide unique photographic opportunities.
The donkeys and I will mingle with your guests at outdoor events, whether that is at your wedding distributing refreshments during the reception, entertaining at a birthday party or a corporate event distributing products, Cheers Big Ears! will make your occasion special.
